Burying carbon to cool down earth

US scientists have developed a new and safer technique to freeze carbon dioxide in the sea bed.

Earlier suggestions include inject the gas in the ocean and storing them in oil or gas fields.

This new method exploits a combined advantage of low temperature and high pressure condition in deep sea beds, which turn the greenhouse gas into a dense liquid.

Ice-like compounds would form cages around CO2, and secure it even upon earthquakes, said the scientist in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).
